Conferences & events

The HNSA hosts a major conference for historical fiction readers and writers every two years.

Early bird registration has now opened for the HNSA 2021 conference!

The HNSA committee has decided to ‘go virtual’ for our most extensive conference program to date. Join us over two successive weekends to enjoy our Bootcamp & Publishing Program on 16 to 17 October 2021, and our Main Conference Program and Optional Craft Workshops on 22 to 24 October 2021.

Take a look at what’s on offer.

Keep in touch on Twitter or Facebook, and subscribe to our newsletter for updates on our next conference and the ARA Historical Novel Prize.

You can also subscribe to our podcast, Imagining the Past. We often share recordings from previous conferences and events this way.

Local chapters also run events including author talks, social gatherings and reader events.

Join us on the HNSA Facebook Group where you can participate in all our discussions about historical fiction, new books, writing tips and more.

You can read more about historical fiction and the people who write it on News & Interviews.
