Catherine was born in Brisbane in 1963. She grew up in Papua New Guinea and later studied medieval history at Sydney University. She has published more than 40 books for all ages in more than a dozen countries and has won the CBCA Book of the Year award (four times), the Victorian Premier’s Award and the Adelaide Festival Award, among others. In 2001 she received a Centenary Medal for her contribution to children’s literature.
Catherine’s recent historical novels include the Theophilus Grey series and Shepherd.
